A good reason to be bad...

Librarian Sophie Heyer has walked the straight and narrow her entire life to avoid paying for her mother's mistakes. But in tiny Jackson Hole, Wyoming, juicy gossip just doesn't go away, so the last thing she needs is for history to repeat itself. Falling hard for the sexiest biker who's ever rode into town would undo everything she's worked for. And to add insult to injury, the sexy stranger is none other than Alex Bishop--the son of the man her mother abandoned Sophie's family for. He may be temptation on wheels, but Sophie's not looking for trouble!

Maybe Sophie's buttoned-up facade fools some, but Alex knows a naughty smile when he sees one. Despite their parents' checkered pasts, he's willing to take some risks to find out the truth about the town librarian. He figures a little fling might be just the ticket to get his mind off of family drama. But what he finds underneath Sophie's prim demeanor might change his world in ways he never expected.

I've had this on my TBR for a while now and I've finally had the chance to read it. This is the first book to the spin-off of the Jackson Hole series, and if you've read [Jackson Hole] you'll definitely want to get started on this spin-off. Victoria Dahl once again kills it with an amazing mix of eroticism and insane drama in one book.

What would you do when you find out that your father who ran away with his mistress twenty five years ago --  who you once thought was probably now having a good time perhaps with a new life and a family -- was recently found, skeletal remains and all? Alex Bishop had already given up on his family life sixteen years ago and left because he couldn't handle the family scandal his father had caused. But when his brother contacts him to return home for a memorial for his late cheating father, whether he liked it or not, he had no choice but to return even for just a while to his deranged mother.

And what would you do when you look exactly like the woman the town knows to have left her husband and young children to run away with a married man. Sophie Heyer has lived with this insanity for as long as she can remember, and Rose Bishop hates every bit of her just for looking like her mother and labels her as "a whore just like her momma". Sophie has lived with a good girl persona all her life just to prove she's nothing like the woman who left them behind, but when she meets Alex Bishop, all tattoos and bad boy image full of adrenaline, she can't resist him.

Everything about this book is just insanely good, from the story line to the characters. Alex Bishop is definitely the dream bad boy; he's a biker, he's got awesome tattoos and that mischievous grin. Meanwhile, Sophie may have been a good girl, but you know what they say about good girls -- they're just bad girls that haven't got caught yet. The good girl image is literally just a farce, because she adores the adrenaline and things that make her feel wild and free. Their chemistry is just so unbelievably sexy, I could honestly feel sizzles.

Another thing I absolutely love about this book, and what drove me crazy is the whole affair going on between the two families. They've become the town gossip, especially with Rose Bishop going all crazy on the Heyer family. And as much as I was absolutely frustrated with Alex's mother, her character was pretty much realistic for an old woman with mental problems. I love how the author touched on other aspects such as family and loyalty, and didn't just focus on the budding steamy relationship between Alex and Sophie.

As much as I loved the whole story plot and the characters... I didn't like the ending. It felt quite abrupt and it seemed as if I missed a chunk of the story, with immediate reconcilations between characters and such. It was as if there wasn't enough closure.

But nonetheless, everything else is a double thumbs up for me. Victoria Dahl's writings are still favorites, and will continue to be. If you're looking for a quick read with the perfect balance of romance and drama, this book is absolutely perfect for you.
